El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Angeles del Río de Porciúncula is the second oldest city in California. Come learn about Los Angeles and its story, with a focus on noir sites.
Some of the features of the tour:
–Union Station, last of the great U.S. rail terminals and site of the film noir classic Union Station.
–The Plaza, site of the foundation of the City of Los Angeles and home to the Dia de los Muertos festival.
–The ever-evolving Grand Central Market with its great new offerings.
–The Water Court at California Plaza on Bunker Hill where many film noir shots were made.
–John Fante Square, named for the darkside author, and
–Central Library, largest free-to-the-public research facility west of the Mississippi River
–Much more!
The Tour starts and ends at Union Station, BUT on the back side.
Meet at the aquarium at Gateway Plaza (east side of Union Station).
Park using the entrance on Vignes Street just south of Cesar Chavez Avenue.
Please wear comfortable clothing. This will be a tour with walking and standing. Please wear comfortable shoes. We will ride the metro red line and/or purple line. You will need a tap card. If you don’t have one, we’ll get you set up when you arrive. Cost: under $5 including transportation cost. If you haven’t been downtown before or recently, be prepared for some fun! It’s not what expect!Finish with a no-host lunch at Phillipe’s! How awesome is that?

–Tour cost: $20 members, $30 non-members. Email hssc@thehssc.org for discount code. (Current membership will be verified). Each member may use the code for him or herself and one guest.
–Go to http://hsscoct8tour.eventbrite.com to purchase tickets. You may pay by credit card or check. We strongly encourage ticket purchases through Eventbrite, which will generate a wait list if the tour sells out.
–If you are unable to purchase your ticket online, email hssc@thehssc.org or call 323-222-0546. If you are not ordering online, please consult with HSSC as to availability of spaces on the tour before sending payment.
–Refunds are available until 10/01/2016.
