Membership- Join or Renew

Membership in the HSSC runs from November 1 to October 31. There is no partial credit for members who join or renew during the middle of the membership year.

All members receive the HSSC newsletter, the Southern Californian, access to HSSC member-only events, and discounts to HSSC events and publications.

Members at the Scholar level and above will receive a printed copy of the Southern California Quarterly, as well as online access through our website Member’s Page to all previously published issues. Members who wish online access to the Quarterly should contact us for a username and password.

Thank you for becoming a member of the HSSC and supporting the mission of the HSSC: to interpret and promote the diverse history of Southern California and the West through education and publications.

Members may join or renew by either completing the and sending the HSSC Membership Form 2020-2021 (paying by check or credit card) or paying online through PayPal (below). If you pay through Paypal, your Paypal address and email will be used as your contact email.

As of September 15, we are now accepting membership renewals for the 2020-2021 membership year. Current members will receive a renewal form in the mail. Please renew by October 31 to keep your membership current.

Members who wish to receive a Southern California Quarterly print subscription and/or online access, must join at the Scholar level or higher. Members who join at the Student, Regular, Associate, and Friend levels, do not receive a print subscription and/or online access to the journal.

Institutions or institutional libraries who want a subscription to the SCQ should contact UC Press.
