HSSC Tour of San Fernando Mission and Archives

Join the HSSC for special tours of two venerable San Fernando Valley historic landmarks, the San Fernando Mission and the Lopez Adobe, on Saturday, November 7 from 10 am to 1:30 p.m.

San Fernando Mission

The day includes visiting the library and archive at the mission as well as touring the 1883 adobe, recently reopened after several years of restoration. Following our tour, we will have lunch at Los Tres Hermanos , a Mexican restaurant down the street from the Lopez Adobe. Tour registration is $10 for HSSC members and $20 for non-members plus Eventbrite fees. (Members can use a discount code to receive the $10 price. Email socalhistory@gmail.com for code) Lunch is not included. There is a limit of 20 people for this event.

Go to Eventbrite by October 29, 2015, to register. Cancellations received by October 27 will be refunded.

Directions
To get to the San Fernando Mission (15151 San Fernando Mission Blvd., Mission Hills), take the 5 Freeway to the San Fernando Mission Blvd. exit. Going northbound, be sure to use the “West” off-ramp and then turn right. Going southbound, turn right off the freeway. Drive about one mile to the mission, which is on the right. To get to the Lopez Adobe (1100 Pico Street, San Fernando), take San Fernando Mission Blvd. back towards the freeway, but continue straight for 1 ¼ miles. At Pico Street, turn right. You can park either on Pico Street or in the city parking lot to the left and across from the adobe. To get to Los Tres Hermanos (1049 San Fernando Rd., San Fernando), either walk or drive east (left) from the adobe at Pico Street on Maclay Street to San Fernando Road. The restaurant is on the right at the southeast corner of Maclay and San Fernando.
